What are the Advantages of polycarbonate sheets?
1. Superior Impact Resistance:
Its impact resistance is 200-300 times that of ordinary glass, 30 times that of acrylic sheets, and 2-20 times that of tempered glass, earning it the title of “unbreakable glass.” It can withstand impacts from branches and gravel in winds up to force 12 without breaking, offering excellent anti-theft and bulletproof protection, and effectively reducing the risk of falling objects from heights.
2. Lightweight, Transparent, and Energy-Saving:
With a density of only 1.2 g/cm³, approximately half that of glass, it significantly reduces the load-bearing requirements of building structures. Its light transmittance is as high as 88%-91%, comparable to glass. This reduces the number of steel structure support columns, improves light uniformity, and helps increase crop yields.
3. Excellent Environmental Adaptability:
It maintains stable performance within a temperature range of -40℃ to 120℃, remaining highly resilient even in extremely cold environments. With a double-sided UV coating, even after 10 years of use in areas with strong ultraviolet radiation, the yellowing index remains below 3%, demonstrating weather resistance far exceeding that of similar materials.
4. Excellent thermal performance:
Provides significant heat insulation and sun protection. When the outdoor temperature is 38℃, the indoor temperature using polycarbonate panels is only 28℃, with a UV blocking rate of 99%. In summer, it lowers indoor temperature, reducing air conditioning usage; in winter, it prevents heat loss, acting as insulation and saving energy.
5. Good sound insulation performance:
At the same thickness, its high-frequency sound insulation effect is superior to glass, increasing sound insulation by 3-4 dB, making it the preferred material for highway sound barriers.
6. Excellent processing performance:
Can be bent into various shapes such as arches and semicircles; excellent processing and high plasticity allow for customization according to actual site needs; lightweight, saving time and effort in handling and installation, and facilitating construction management.
7. Flame-retardant, environmentally friendly, and safe:
The flame-retardant rating is B1 (difficult to burn), with some products reaching UL94 V0 level. Its self-ignition point is 580℃, and it self-extinguishes after being removed from the flame. It does not produce toxic gases during combustion. High-quality boards have a service life of up to 25 years and are 100% recyclable. Recycling reduces energy consumption by 70% compared to producing new boards, aligning with green and sustainable development principles.
8. Outstanding electrical performance:
Low water absorption and strong dielectric properties allow it to maintain excellent insulation performance even in humid and high-temperature environments, making it an indispensable insulating material in the electronics and electrical appliance industries.
